Supplier Diversity Commitment Statement – CNA Procurement

CNA is committed to positioning our people, processes and technology towards fostering a better tomorrow. This includes ensuring that we are advocates and strategic partners in building a diverse corporate ecosystem which reflects the demographics and values of our organization, clients, and communities.

In line with that vision, CNA's Supplier Diversity program aims to build strong, innovative relationships, with qualified companies, ensuring that diverse businesses have an equitable opportunity to compete for and win our business. By reducing barriers, promoting economic empowerment, and ensuring competitive access to contract and purchasing opportunities for a diverse base of suppliers, we hope to increase equity in today's business environment.

Internally, we are committed to training and upskilling our employees, providing them with actionable opportunities and innovative solutions for continuous improvement with high-performing diverse suppliers. We establish clear objectives to meet stakeholder needs, analyze data to underscore key trends and opportunities, and track measurable performance results. Additionally, CNA has a long-standing commitment to diversity through its Corporate Social Responsibility and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives.

CNA's official Procurement Policy notes that business partners across the organization are expected to consider opportunities to do business with minority-owned (MBE), women-owned (WBE), LGBT-owned (LGBTBE), veteran-owned (VBE), disability-owned (DOBE), and/or small (SBE) business enterprises.

We are corporate members of the following organizations that support supplier diversity: Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA), and Disability:IN. We accept but do not require certification by one or more of the aforementioned groups, or their regional affiliates.

Additionally, CNA is committed to promoting and monitoring direct and indirect Tier II diverse supplier spend, of the companies it partners with. All policies related to supplier diversity above extend to acknowledged Tier II spend. CNA believes that everyone has a part in sustaining growth in these areas and developing diverse and small businesses.

Prospective suppliers should register their company information via the registration form below. Please note doing so does not guarantee the business will receive a contract or request to bid, or confer any preferred supplier status.
